Maria Worth is a location within the Austrian state of Carinthia and is home to the beautiful Wörthesee Lake and one of the major pilgrimage site of Wallfahrtskirche Maria Woerth Church. Surprisingly, my favourite part of Maria Worth was not the Wörthesee lake, but rather, the Wallfahrtskirche Maria Woerth Church, otherwise known as Church of St. Primus and Felican. Built in 822AD, this has got to be one of the oldest church I’ve visited so far. Due to it’s beautiful setting, and location, being the highest point in the peninsula, it is a popular wedding church today; and quite rightly so! The church is a charming one, through and through, like one straight out of fairy tale. With its tower,… View Post

Villach, A Carinthian Gem.

Villach, A Carinthian Gem.

The second largest city of Carinthia, Villach, is completely surrounded by mountains and breathtaking lakes and because of that, everywhere you turn to or look in Villach, you are treated to spectacular views! As Villach is quite a small town, it is a walker’s paradise. One my favourite memory was a random evening stroll in the countryside. We walked passed lovely gardens, beautiful cottage like houses, rail tracks and was eventually welcomed by the lovely and peaceful Ossiacher see Lake. Looking to rest after a hectic trip? Visit Salzburg! With all the walking and navigating our way through groups of tourists in Venice, Salzburg was an ideal next stop. Fall season in Salzburg is beautiful and fall would also mean fewer tourists because of the cold (it was 7 degree Celsius when we were there) – so we were glad to have that peace and quietness we had in Salzburg. With less than a day on our hand to tour around all of Salzburg attractions, we quickly got to business. Here are some of our absolute favourite things to do in Salzburg. Taking the Festungsbahn to Hohensalzburg Castle… View Post

Fall In Love With Ljubljana City in Slovenia

Fall In Love With Ljubljana City in Slovenia

If I could name one city to fall in love with, in a heartbeat, it would be Ljubljana city, the capital of Slovenia. This artsy little city is beyond beautiful and so full of characters, yet, not overrun with tourists. Dramatic castles perched on the hill, baroque style churches, rich cultural scene, and very much walkable city, it’s very hard to not fall head over heels in love with this place! We visited the capital of Slovenia with absolutely no expectations at all, and no planned itineraries. With no plans in place, except for our accommodation which was booked only a couple nights before, we set out to explore this fun capital. Here are some of what we absolutely love… View Post
